I saw that Gospel Light will carry a Quick Start Kit and their regular Super Starter Kit for their SonSurf Beach Bash VBS 2011 curriculum. What is the difference between the Quick Start Kit and the Starter Kit that has been available in past years for Gospel Light's VBS?

Thank you ladies for your answers!

One suggestion for Gospel Light to change is the description of the starter kits. Especially for VBS Directors who haven't used Gospel Light's VBS curriculum before to have a bulleted list of what is included in both of the starter kits that you are selling for SonSurf Beach Bash VBS 2011. Then VBS Directors could know what in both of them and old VBS Directors who have used Gospel Light for a number of years can see if there is anything new in the starter kits and ask questions about it and comment on it.

Not to be downgrading but I feel that the Gospel Light website is hard to navigate to find what you're looking for when it comes to VBS supplies and you don't know what things are because they don't have a picture with them like most of the items do or they have a half done job on the description of the item. I'm saying this not to downgrade Gospel Light but to be a voice crying out for change that will help all of the Gospel Light VBS customers. I've personally used two of Gospel Light's VBS curriculums to direct with so I have experience with working with Gospel Light for VBS.

God Bless,

Josh

This year we purchased a SonQuest Rainforest Starter Package. Will a Starter Package be offered next year? (I only see a Quick Start and a Super Starter) Thanks

Josh, thanks for your insight. Indeed, it's never easy to change websites! Most of us really dislike having to change (well, at least I do!).

IF you'll look at the two lists above, you can see the differences between the kits. There are photos SOON to come! Hang in there! (Remember, this is a new course, so they're still in production on some things!)

Janice, the Quick Start Kit is not exactly like the SonQuest Starter Kit. It's more simplified kit and one way to overview the materials.

For my money, I'd just buy the super starter kit NOW, while the price special is on and then I would have lots of time to explore all of the parts and pieces. It's really amazing what is in there. When you break down the cost of a Super Starter Kit on a per-kid basis, it's pretty inexpensive (unless you have ten kids at your VBS!). And if you get it early, you'll become an expert on what is included and you can USE all of it! There is a TON of stuff!

Would the Quick Start Kit have all the teacher/station books you would need to carry out the VBS?

Tammy, the Quick Start Kit has the Bible story center guides and the preschool teacher guide (for a complete description of what's in it, scroll up a little to where Christy put the whole list). If you compare it with the Super Starter kit, you'll see that music, crafts, Bible and recreational games, snacks, PowerPoints for the songs, videos of the skits and of Dr. Cool, are all included in the Super Starter kit (and more!)...

Compare the two lists above and you'll see that for the money, you get about four times as much stuff in the super starter kit!

Have you gotten your kit yet? Did you get a QuickStart kit? Want to know what you think of it!

We just used this for our VBS and it was a blast!!!!  I absolutely loved this.  Compared with Group's VBS this one is so much easier to organize, run, and teach!  The crafts were great.  We added a Tye-Dye shirt as a craft - to remind the children to tie themselves to Christ through salvation because he died for our sins.  I found the lessons easy to prepare and the memory verses were well suited with the stories - unlike some of the VBS material from other sources that we had used in the past.  I taught the 3 and 4 year olds.  In my class we constructed a sandbox with an ocean scene behind it.  I think this was a big hit with all the kids - before class I would have children of all ages piled in the sand box.  Absolutely one of my favorite VBS years - I can't wait for next year to see what Gospel Light has!!  Thanks so much!!
